As The Fisherman of Halicarnassus said: “See Rome to Die, See Gökova to live”
Gökova Bay, with its unique nature and historical remains, is one of the most beautiful places, not only of Turkey but of the world. There are many special coves in the bay and in north it reaches to Bodrum Peninsula and in south to Datça Peninsula. In Antiquity, it was known as Kerameikos and later as İstanköy and Kerme. In the past, the name Gökova was used to specify the eastern part of bay is now used as the name of whole bay.
